New bike is polished, no lacquer and is aluminium (2011 alpine 160)

What are my options? Can I get it anodised? If so does anyone know a company in west yorks?

If not, can anyone recommend a decent frame sprayer?

Thanks

leave it polished? frames look lovely like that unless you want a garish colour to get all chipped and scratched with use ?

I actually agree. It was the mrs that just came in the room and said 'i don't like it polished' and I do anything the mrs says.... ๐Ÿ˜€

if you want to keep the polished finish use something like a "woody wax" used for keeping boat alloy free of water spots (it'll last about 4-6 months before it needs a re-polish)

I used to keep my motorbike alloy polished with Solvol Autosol. Used to ride all winter, no corrosion.

Speak to Orange.
A lot of their in-house guys have a polished finish on their bikes, see how they look after it.
My mate has a polished five, bloody lovely it is.

The polished finish is probably more resistant to scratching than a gloss paint finish. You may get water spots, especially on the top-tube from sweat, but they can be removed easily with a little metal polish on a cloth followed by a buff with a clean cloth.

Use Belgom Alu which polishes and protects to some extent, you can then extend/increase the protection with a good quality automotive sealant (synthetic wax). I use Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 as it's the ducks guts. That buys about 2-3 weeks protection in constant bad weather before needing a top up, dirt just rinses off as well.
