so where has the £20k figure come from? If the SDH thread is for real then it's unclear at best

THe 20k is from police estimates in various news reports.

If you now read the SDH thread you will see a number of riders identifying bikes in the photos they STILL OWN and weren't stolen which were in for repair at the time that were confiscated by the police.

Hopefully the bike shop in question will sue the Police for negligence and loss of earnings.

This is where forums falls down, lots of unknowledgeables ranting about thier point of view with no actual basis or evidence.

Its simple, sit back and see what happens. Like the QR fork thing, it all fizzles out to nothing and we all get on with carrying on as usual.

i doubt anything will come of it.

Update

Just had the police on the phone to confirm one of the bikes they have matches the description of the one I had taken
We'll see tomorrow if it's the same one
