I am getting plans together for this March's Polaris and want to overcome my principal dread for the event - the end of day 1 recovery drink. I hate banana drinks, and the chocolate ones I've tried are all gopping - any recomendations? I like the PSP22 lemon energy drink, so something citusy but with protein is, I guess, the order of the day. What about flavourless protein drinks?
We just eat enough, take a sachet of frothy coffee and a couple of cans of beer. Although this time we'll take a bottle of wine as we'll be on the tandem with bob-yak.
I enjoyed both the Black Sheep Ale bought at the remote campsite and some Single Malt in the Brecons wash-out, but know I should take something to make the legs work better on day 2.
Try the Torq strawberries and cream. Much better than their other two flavours (to my taste buds).
