after fitting my new pr of hope hoops (pro11) the front wheel had quiet a bit of play & once i was addimant it wasn,t the qr skewer etc i contacted hope.
they said that on a few occasions they have found that the bearings are not seated correctly onto the inner spacer & i could either return them to hope or seat the bearings myself.
i carefully carried out the procedure myself & the play has gone but is this a common problem with hope wheels or anybody else aware of this.
Built hell of a lot of bikes with these hubs and never come across it.
It aint just hope all cartridge bearing wheels suffer from this from time to time i've had it on CK and mavics
I've had it a few times & speaking ot dealers they have had it too.
Hope have said they had a batch of undersized bearings but we replaced the bearings with non-Hope ones & still had the same problems which can only mean its a tollerance issue with the hub bodies. Hope have replaced the bodies & all has been fine since.
Problem is that they dont put serial no's on every hub so they have no way of knowing which hubs are faulty.
