My GF has ordered one of the sl pro carbons through planet x on the cycle to work scheme. Read through all the relevant info on the site, posted the voucher and they say they will contact her when they receive it to get the remaining balance.

Cue 3 weeks after sending the voucher (and 1st payment has already gone out) she calls them to ask if they have received it. After being passed round 3 people (and having to explain to each one of them) they say "Oh yes we had that 2 weeks ago". They take the payment over the phone and say it will dispatched the next day (to arrive today)

Haven't heard anything so she calls today. They ask "have you got your dispatch email?" Of course she didn't get a dispatch email and no tracking info either. She's then told the dispatch team don't know much about it and they'll try and trace it.

on top of this the cycle to work scheme send this:

I am sorry to bother you, but having received your Cyclescheme voucher from Planet X, we need confirmation from you, in writing (an email will suffice), that you did indeed redeem your voucher in this shop. That is, that you have got your bike. If you could also tell us exactly what it was that you received, we would be extremely grateful.

So not a clue what's going on!

and you think posting on a forum while they are trying to find out what happened is going to help?

nope thought not, just likely to piss off people who are trying to sort it out for you...

Well, maybe. It Will show that they certainly don't seem to have their game together (or at least the experience she is having). I know my GF hasn't been instilled with that much confidence after speaking to them.

I don't see a problem with posting on here. Are we supposed to sit in silence and not name and shame bad experiences? No different from all the halfords/LBS bashing

Just found this thread , its no problem posting on a forum , if we cocked up we cocked up .

The cyclescheme is definitely one area of our business that is proving hard to manage , we seem to have nailed most of the standard order processing for online orders and touch word our despatch and order processing is hugely improved and were starting to nip at the heels of industry leaders wiggle / chain reaction .

But we need to get cyclescheme nailed , there are a few that have slipped through the net , a large part has been down to lack of ownership and staff going off on summer holidays leaving a few things behind , cyclescheme being the main one when our cyclescheme guy went off for 3 weeks holiday , he passed cyclescheme to another member of staff , who was then off sick for a week - and he did not brief the remaining staff .

In short im hoping it was a hiccup , well try to tighten things up , but cyclescheme can be quite complicated and we need to get full ownership and get it sorted .

So sorry .

The interesting bit everybody's missed is that she and P-X appear to be breaking the rules by having dual ownership of the bike.

posted the voucher and they say they will contact her when they receive it to get the remaining balance.

They take the payment over the phone

And in what way does this mean she has taken her part in ownership of the bike? As far as i can see she has simply paying fo goods that she WILL receive, not has received!! Bit like me ordering somethingonline, yes i've paid for the goods but until i recieve them i'm not in ownership of them

aracer, you are allowed to "top-up" above the amount permitted by your employer, if you choose to do so. It's only like paying extra for a nicer company car

Hmm - As I recall, this is actually against the rules. It's just that some turn a blind eye to it.
