🙂 Funny I was thinking it would make a good rocky descent, for those with the balls and skill (i.e. not me). There must be loads more stuff on that wee hill, so close to Pitlochry.

Indeed; I think I'd be much worse off if the second puddle hadn't been there - it provided far gentler deceleration than dirt. Funny incident in the pub later when I reached into my pocket for some change and pulled out, quite literally, a handful of sand!
