i'm tempted to join you if we're going at a modest pace.
By which I take it you mean not too slow, rather than not too fast.
Meeting time & place = 11am in the town car park*.
Can anyone pick Kit up from Stockbridge?
Mark - do you have his number? He can't post because he's still on the naughty step.
*I don't actually know which one but assuming there can't be many.
11am??? I didn't realise it was a night ride. We can surely manage well before that?
I have room, could maybe meet him somewhere closer to the bypass than Stockbridge.

Hellooooo... Seriously - is this 11am thing some sort of elaborate joke to which I am not a party? Like the chances of finding a parking space in the main Pitlochry car park at 11 on a Sunday morning or something???
What time are we really meeting up? Might I suggest 9am?
You do have a point about the parking, if not the proposed start time.
Hoping to make this one if that's OK - I know a few of you, I think. Have we settled on a start time - I'd hate to have to catch you all up on the route 🙂
How so? 11am and half the day has already gone, leaving us climbing in the hottest part of the day too.
2nd the earlier start. By midday I think I'll be looking to crawl into a dark hole if its like today.
Can I suggest 09:30 there? I'm in need of a decision so that I can plan the alcohol comsumption surrounding the impending meat scorching session in place of a civilised meal tonite. 09:30 translates roughly into an 08:00/15 Edinburgh departure. All in favour say "Aye", or if another time is preferred post up.
Aye.
Aye - but as jimmy is the organiser, I'd rather wait for his agreement 🙂
Mark/Kit/Bawbags - what say you 8am at Haymarket?
8 A frikkin M???
That means i can only have 3 beers tonight.
under normal circumstances i'd be well up for this but punished my road legs today on glen quaich and may not have much left for another daft day of climbing. will keep an eye out on time/car park and turn up if recovered tho.
Don't worry too much about the climbs. I'll be going at a sedate pace 🙂
If you turn up, look out for a light blue Uglipla.
Have just texted Jim; he's fine with an 0930 start as he's camping in Pitlochry this evening.
Will probably park outside the centre and ride in - will no doubt see folk milling around the High Street.
Ok half nine in Pitlochry. I've got Marks mob number so as long as he has it switched on shouldn't have a problem finding folks.
It is on 24h. You can always get me. Ahem.
Now where did I leave my mobile?

Any pics of the ride? Italspark and I did a Mount Keen loop, escaping the rain all day. Looked cloudy westwards.
Route; crap (mine will be!) photos to follow:

Weather was great, but a bit hot and humid. It rained heavily just before we started riding, and the mist cleared on the hills an hour or so later. A few folk (Jimmy, Kit and Steven) did an extra loop around Craigower - the rest of us retired to a pub!
You took a different route to the way we usually go. We climb up from the Tay to the right of that square plantation. Its a nicer trail than the big fire road you took. Did Radoggair show up? Did the singlespeeder ride the big climb?
twas a great day out...thanks jimmy,
steven cleaned most of the big climb...
heres some pics, all pics on my facebook page (bruce mathieson)

ro must being doing his nut with all the colours, the GPS's and the sheer size of the group.
It's a wonder Vietnam isn't now a crater in the earth!
Nice day out chaps. All weathers in one day.

We met a very nice local (farmer) who explained to use that the route you suggested had a few locked gates on it and would be a lot of hassle. After chatting about the weather/winter for a few minute, he suggested the shown route as a better alternative. Of course, without doing both, it's hard to tell 🙂

indeed 😮 we got waves from everyone despite our dull clothes and bikes and even an employee of the landowner helped us out and made our large group of only 9 feel very welcome...also sure that red squirral i saw gave me the peace sign so all is well in the world 😛
look at the size of the trench 9 - yes, just 9 - tires left, as presented by Andy in that last pic. I hope we're all ashamed of ourselves.
Great day, thanks for turning up folks.
EDIT: And for the route, Stuartie_C!
Looks brilliant guys. I spent the day in my hammock in the garden, coughing up green snotters.
I'm curious about the first pic coastkid - is there some manlove going on?
That's some quality Interior Design going on there i will have you know.
I was planning wall paper for Autumn.
****.
Forgot to suck gut in for that pic...
ok, i can admit i may have judged you all too harshly. you look fairly sane.
hope you enjoyed the ride. nice pics. made me homesick 🙂

There was plenty of manlove going on, the whole ride. Shame you missed out 😉
Cheers everyone, enjoyed the ride. I'll make sure I have some food with me next time and might make it further up the hill. Most photo sites are blocked at work so will check them out when I get home.
took a while to get songs to fit and youtube playing funny buggers again about music copyrights again but finally heres 3 films from sunday 😮

superb, loved Druidh going over the bars. Almost as funny as the horse story. Did TheBikeChain pay you well for the amount of air time you gave him? Don't think I climbed as much as you think but did nae sae bad. Good day everybody. Hope you aren't too sore today HH.
LOL - there was just that moment when I hit the gorse and wondered why I was still falling 🙂
you just dissapeared into the ground druidh 😮
aye the horse story lol...now thats a classic!
Wished i had seen Onion do that in real life. That was funny!
Bugger me that horse story was bloody funny - haven't laughed like that in ages.
ha, that fall into the gorse was excellent. 2nd vid is great, shame you couldn't capture the smell of the brakes at the end!
It hurted more laughing at that story than it did getting ejected at 32.1mph!
Great day out - cheers all 🙂
Pics on Facebook.
That looks like a brilliant day out , Like the videos Bruce . HH you did well to come out unscathed hitting the dirt at 32 mph. I camped at Loch Tummel last year and wished I'd taken my bike any chance of there being a repeat of this route some time in the near future.
