I'm not sure how many Pinion users there are on here, but if you have one and aren't a fan of the grip shifter, this is probably worth a look:

Oh I missed those 6 at the bottom.

So 24. Oof.

Still a far from viable production run.

I guess it needs someone like zerode or deviate to take them on to provide them as options on full builds. I also guess it hasn’t taken off because folk who say ‘i’d Buy a pinion if it weren’t for gripshift’ didn’t buy one to then upgrade, or did and have got used to it. Plus the dual sided design limits what dropper remote mtbers can use. Plus, £300...

I’ve backed it. If it doesn’t get funded I’ll drop them a message to see if they’ll still send me one of the preproduction sets. If not then sit and hope for leccy ones...

Flawed. As said above it's no good for MTBs as if you've got a pinion, you probably use a dropper.

About time someone designed a gearbox that didn't require 2 directional control or weigh a tonne.

It seems unlikely they'd ditch the project on the basis of a failed kickstarter, but obviously it would make things more difficult for them.

You can still run one, I’m gonna use the old reverb plunger, or levers that fit around grip collars work fine. It’s just not immediately obvious.

Yep, I had the Rohloff Speedhub version and it worked fine with a KS Lev lock-on grip lever. I quite like having the up and down shift functions on different sides, honestly.

Funding target hit. Looks like someone (a retailer, I suspect) has backed one of the the big bundles.

Woo!

I'm sure I saw Deviate testing a version with both shifters on one side, still didn't look great but possible better than the left/right setup. Will see if i can find it

The insta post with above/below the grip levers? The above grip one was a LHS dropper lever mounted upside down.

There is a chap who has made one on mtbr, single sided, complete with gear indicator though pinion, and others, weren’t interested.

Yeah just looked again and realised that’s what it was, hadn’t paid it much attention first time round

Very low funding target for this type of product - hope they haven't shot themselves in the foot!

I don’t think so, they already make the rohloff kit, reckon this is an adapted version of the same kit. Plus they are pretty far through the development of it. As you can see in the deviate insta, it exists, and works well.

It’s not like they want 9k to design, build, test and produce a completely new product. What sort of muppets would do that, eh?

Yeah, I can't wait to get my sweaty paws on these. I'm so over gripshift.
