I know this is a pretty common problem so I did a wee search, but nothing was found!

So, yesterday I went riding out in the Peaks (btw, anyone who read my other thread, it was fine, not many people, just lots of bikers, Ta) and as I made my way back down to Bamford I noticed that my Pikes were leaking oil from the MiCo adjuster. It must have been a reasonable amount as it had ran all the way down the leg to the bottom of the fork. I've read before that they do this sometimes, but in most cases it's from leaving the bike on it's side or upside down. I'd done neither.

So, I presume that there must be a seal gone in the cart somewhere. Has anyone got any advice on fixing the thing and on the size of o-rings/seals I need? I'm pretty comfortable servicing them myself and I know that if I call TF they'll recommend a service, and want to charge me 90 quid for the privilege.

thanks in advice, you beautiful hive mind you.
Andy

Probably the top o-ring on the MoCo cart gone, leads to leaking from around the blue dial. Can happen upright too if you spalsh enough oil about. Call LoCo, he'll advise and sell you the seals.

It did get pretty bumpy yesterday 😯

I'll whip out the MoCo tomorrow and have a look. I've read that the seals can just get unseated, so it could be that. I'll give Loco a ring too, though I'm not overly keen on spending 20quid on a couple of 5p o-rings.

Sometimes the 'umbrella' seal at the top of the MoCo can fail too - it's a large diameter round flanged one. Replace with a suitable urethane o-ring of the same overall dimensions.

Leaking from the shaft needs new shaft seal o-rings - the small ones at the top of the shaft.

Any ideas why I might be getting a little bit of oil leaking from the rebound adjuster? Not enough to drip, but still leaking slightly. Seems slightly harsh too, doubt that's linked though.

That'll probably be oil that's leaked around the damper shaft seal into the lower leg, eventually it'll fill up and transform from slightly harsh to near locked out.Again, speak to Loco, doubt it'll be anywhere near £20 for the seals we're talking about.
