Looking at extending my Pikes out to 160mm and have seen reports of an upgraded Debonair airshaft.
Is it worth the extra outlay over a standard one and what sort of benefits does it give?
Thanks
Steve
yes. 70% of 9 people surveyed said that trail wrinkles felt smoother and the effective plushness of their telescopy was noticeably more buttery.
It's about a fiver in the difference, so definitely worth it
its only a tiny amount more isnt it?
did it on my reba, although it doesn't change the volume on the reba, it certainly seemed to have less stiction
Yep. Absolutely. As many others have said before, small bump absorption is improved and I found it gave me loads more feel in the corners which leads to faster cornering. I removed one fork token and dropped about 10psi.
As you are changing travel anyway it’s an absolute no brainer
Even if you already have the req travel it’s a decent upgrade for very cheap ..
A bit better I found. Like the difference when you do a 50 hour service but not as much as when you do a the 100 hour. It gives easy off the top, not noticed much difference beyond that. Might as well do it when changing them anyway.
Noticeably better for me, definitely smoothed out chatter more. Also removed one token and dropped PSI a little. Went 150 to 160 with the swap.
Me too. Big difference. And its easier to get back out as doesn't have the stupid plastic bit a normal spring does, which needed 3 hands..
