Ya see, I really love my full suss, but every time someone puts up a picture of a Soul, I just get this urge to go and buy one.... like now. It just looks so sorted.

Nice build Dan, what forks are they btw ?

These were taken the morning of completion.

Now with a 80mm stem, layback post and summer tyres.

As said many times on here - the best bike I have owned...

F120's. Now running a 90mm stem rather than the 100mm one in the pic. Steering feels faster and I can't tell the difference in the stretch. 2.2 Rubber Queens too.

Rather unfashionably moved from a 70mm stem to a 90mm which seems to suit me a bit better.

Happy to oblige:

Rev U-turns, SLX groupset, Pro2/Stans 355 wheels. Much more capable than the rider!

Orange is for attention whores, understated is where it's at in 2010 😉

I've finally got mine built up. 2010 frame which was delivered in January. It lives up to and exceeds all expectations. Complient enough to be comfortable on an all day ride, latrally stiff enough to respond to the slightest steering input or weight shift. It tips the scales just below 24.5lbs which is respectable for a 'robust' build. Hats off to Cy and Paul for refining a tried and tested and trusted product rather than altering the formula for marketing sake.

That's amazing, how did you make that bike look like it's just floating there with no support?.......... 😆

What are the shifters on that?

They are Paul Components Bar-con mounts and Dura-Ace 9sp downtube shifters. I'm a bit archaic in my choice of shifters, i've always managed to break rapidfire units before i've mastered the use of them. The setup provides a personal tried and tested formula that has yet to leave me gearless... I made it float with an organic carbon compound stratigically positioned to oppose gravity 😉

Just got back from another blast around the Surrey Hills. Can't quite believe how well this thing carries speed. It's sort of redefining my understanding of what is possible on a bike.

1981miked, That's the attitude! I managed to get one off the classifieds here after waiting seemingly forever, and they are ace. My build however was severely limited in the funds area, and the cheap second-hand components really don't do it justice. 2011's ambition is to improve it somewhat......

Go for it and then post up on here when you've built it!

My soul started as such a wishlist as you describe, back in last August.... A few months later the list has become reality.. buying it bit by bit also warped the reality of the cost ;-)...

Right! This is all your lots fault, if i end up living in the shed or bin then im blaming u...

Im off to the bike shop today to discuss my requirements, not 100% sure what frame colour to go for, i like the Orange but its an awkard colour to get shiny bits to match and look good. The black will look good with a few silver bits me thinks, and i was thinking gunsmoke bits fo the orange frame.
Not sure i want to be around when he gives me the rice tho! Started with a budget of £800 for an off the peg bike... and now its doubled and turned into a custom build! Ur all gits! 😉
