Great pics Ed O - What time of year was that, and was your bearded member wearing the ski goggles for effect or out of necessity?

It was October, when you can start to use the Ranger's path in the daytime under the voluntary agreement. Goggles are ace for windy plummets.....and for showboating!

Is there a resource with all this type of information in anywhere?

I saw a thread about Scotland to Lands end off road earlier too and it got me thinking... is there a site for these type of 'epic' (hate that word) type rides? Or do you just tend to find out about the best routes by word of mouth?

Ta, DanW

I guess part of the fun is finding the rides and making new friends that show you the ones that they know. Some epic rides are featured in the Trail Guide on this site.

i rode it a few weeks ago and it was brilliant, lovely clear sunny day although a little nippy on top. great ride and not all that demanding.
