I haven't ridden it since Christmas Day a couple of years back. Fancy riding it tomorrow, how is it looking? All ok? not washed out anywhere. Still worth the trip etc- no parking restrictions?

If it's been a couple of years, then you will not have ridden loop 2.
Just love the place, not everybody's cup of tea I know.
I know that it's man made, but it just seems less so than others.

****ing wet last Sunday! rode it on my SS, some boardwalk sections are overgrown and was hard to spot where the edges where, nothing major just off putting at speed. Some other parts where slightly overgrown too, which is a shame as a lot of work went into that trail.

Rode it last Saturday for the first time in a while, forgot how much I like it. Bit overgrown in places, but the worst has been recently strimmed. expect puddles!
about 5 cars there at 9.30 last Saturday. but full, with cars parked down the bottom of the fire road when we finished (after 12.00!)

"Are there are any good tracks to loop it from Betws-Y-Coed?"

There's a lovely little track about half way round the Marin that leads in to Penmachno, You can then do Penmachno and come back to finish the Marin. It makes for a really good ride. I had the map on my PC before it crashed and I seem to have lost it from my back up disc. I'll try and retrieve it again and post it up. I know the route when I'm there but it's virtually impossible to describe. You have to go a way off of the Marin to get to the linking section.

A couple of [s]loons[/s] people who frequent this site have an unofficial competition to see who can ride Bwetsy-Coed, MarinTrail, Bwetsy -Coed, Penmachno Trail, Bwetsy -Coed (using the A road) in the quickest time. I believe Terrahawk has just pipped me on the last attempt but I'm going back for more.

Milt, was you in the group with the few Yeti's?
I was in the other group around that time. I was on the old style 575.

Anyhow, other that some of the boardwalk having overhanding foliage and a few puddles it was excellent. Saw 1 other biker the whole time we were out there.
My favourite Welsh trail.

pm me with your email address if you need the Garmin file, I also have the Tracklogs. Thought we had gone wrong last Saturday as the fireroad bit seemed to go on for longer than I remember. Also saw the guy riding alone who was from Sheffield.

why on earth would you need garmin stuff for this, its really well marked.

love the trail too. its my fave man made one.

Pembo. was that me? I was there on Saturday but not riding on my own. would have been a big coincidence if there were more than on group of Sheffielders there at the same time

No, it was some guy visiting his mother-in-law in Anglesey and managing to get away for a cheeky ride on his Orange 5. Right about the Garmin but I use it for recording not navigating at trail centres.

Tsk tsk, shocked that Sheffielders will drive through mountainbiking country to get to a trail in Wales ๐Ÿ™„ 8)

that's well odd, cos I was also in Anglesey, staying at the in-law's static caravan. Spooky coincidence all round.

Hora, we went to Wales for a (very rainy) holiday, i'm excused your cheeky remarks

Pembo, if you're reading this...I'm trying to contact you, but you don't show your e-mail, and we can't PM through here. Mail me will you?

Was there last Tuesday. Quiet, lots of puddles but good. I like that natural feel of the trail.
