I'd best bring a full tool kit then. Being a pootle virgin, you can guarantee that if anything's going to go wrong, it'll go wrong for me!
a full pootle toolkit consists of a big screwdriver and some jelly babies.
we ray mears anything else we need
Hello breakfast on the first climb 20 minutes later then...
Wouldnt be the worst thing I've done on a STW Peaks ride, I once stalled on jaggers clough (38t 1x9 gearing!) and pushed someoen off the edge!
The screwdriver is good for pooks chain WHEN it jumps off again behind his cassette cough cough ๐
that chain splitter looks pretty good. not sure about the patches though
sorry but I struggle with long sentences, can some one tell me meeting time, place and likely finish time please. Might finally get chance to go on a pootle this time.
Cheers.
NBT - Cheers, that would be grand- save me throwing a wobbly...
Thisisnotaspoon - if u spot a red vw transporter hiding in the corner of the car park tonight, that'll be me, pulling the same trick as you. A bacon sarnie at 9am would be wonderful, thankyou. Knock loudly...
Oh go on then, I'm in. It's 10:00 at the Station? What's the planned ride - just to save me having to go through the hora the hora of the previous six pages.
The route's a closely guarded secret but about 15 miles, apparently. Or twelfty if you live round this neck of the woods.
I'll prob ride over if that's about the size of it.
Life; you bastard! I'm having to work (being grown up and self employed is no fun) enjoy. I can't even show off my new nichemonging kneebreaker. Sad day indeed.
DONK - 10am for a 10.15 start. A mere 15 minutes faff time (bet it's not enough) Carpark opposite the station in Edale
Likely finish time - who knows, one of these has taken 6 hours before...
cheers ourkidsam.
I'll be expecting some local routes for local people secrets BWD ๐
Is it pay and display?
I'm deffinately in - Miss4real not so as she thinks the hills may be too hard !?!?
Eh ?
Anyway I'm out of persuasion energy so I'll just have to hope that the skills day she is on next week improves her enthusiasm !

I'll point you in the direction of the Longdendale Trail, you'll like that. It's kind of very wide singletrack...
>Is it pay and display?
yes it is, and it's not cheap. You can park down at the end of the valley and ride down if you want to save some money
Bring Miss4Real along, Bunnyhop's coming despite being a bit wobbly at the moment so some female company will cheer her up
Actually, I'll be nice on this thread!
Think I'm gonna come along on this one. How many we up to now?
Twelfty?
we've got about 30 coming. parking is about a fiver for the day, so bring change. more later... including THE ROUTE!!!!!
Excited now!
Cheers Jules,i might park on top of Mam Tor and enjoy that descent into Edale ๐
all well and good, except you have to ride back up at the end of the day!
pook - i dont think you should post the route and keep the ride a magical mystery tour, plus it will stop everyone from moaning and trying to persuade you to change it! (but you can email it to me so i can plan a secret ambush!!)
'nother vote for keeping it secret ๐
hsmith - I agree, although having never ridden the area it'll all be a magical mystery tour for me!

It's gonna be like Christmas for then!
Can I join in on this?
If so I would be driving from Macclesfield if anyone is stuck for a lift

(jules, text me. phone has lost all my numbers)
txted the number i have for you. did you get the mail I sent a few minutes back?
Sociable ride? Oh dear...can i still come?

You're responsible for yourself. Bring your kit, gear, spares, etc.
Car parking is about a fiver. Bring lots of change.
We'll be getting food/beer after.
It's my birthday.
(That last bit is the most important)
My number is 07734 816671. It won't work in Edale, but if you need to ask questions tonight, text or ring before 11.
I think the layby / car park just over 0.5km up the road to Upper Booth (and on to Jacobs Ladder) is free.
I'll look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow

Yes it is.

But I reckon we as a responsible bunch of folks should put something back by paying the dollar.

Alternatively, I'm just never early enough to bag one of the 6 places!!!
๐
Yep, I'd encourage those turning up early to spend the money they saved in either Coopers Cafe (up next to the post office in Edale) or the Penny Pot (next to the station) on breakfast.
