If you buy something privately (off Ebay etc) and you pay with Paypal (not as a gift), you're protected in the event the goods don't turn up or somethings not right, right? 😕

PayPal/eBay have a habbit of siding with the buyer in most cases where there is a dispute.

I sold a set of pikes. They didnt arrive at the buyer. Paypal refunded him from my bank account. I got my money back 3 months later from the post office. I'd happily buy via paypal.

I won't use PayPal gift for anything over £30, that just happens to be the maximum amount that I feel could afford to lose, I wouldn't be happy about it but I could cope with it.

I've often offered to pay half of the paypal costs when buying things from them.

I've just paid over £200 for some bits via PayPal gift. Fingers crossed!
