Im gong to cycle at Eastridge Woods tonight on my wat through. Where is the best place to park? Whats the nearest postcode/ Are the trails easy to find/way,arked etc. Ive got the forestry comission map but it doesn't tell you how to get there.
Theres a small carpark at the start of the trails. Directions under emergency info on the map.
Drive from Shrewsbury to Pontesbury on the A488. You will pick up the signs from Pontesbury; these take you to the main car park. There is a map in the car park, and there are some waymarked routes, and plenty of other unmarked trails to choose from. The red route is excellent 🙂
I always park at the village hall at Snailbeach. Honesty box for parking.
The map isn't clear if the direction of travel is Clockwise or anti clockwise?
For the red route, it's clockwise. Assuming you park in the main car park, head up the hill with the road on your left - you'll pick up the signs for the red route and it will take you down some singletrack within a few tens of metres of the car park. Have fun!

That was ace! The downhills are how downhills should be and the dusty singletrack was epic!
