I currently have a 35 mile each way commute and would like to do a bit of it on the bike.
So I am after some advice on where I could park (ideally for free) near junction 26 of the M1. I will then do the last part to Beeston on my bicycle. The plan will be leave the car further and further away in time.

There's the laybys on either side of the A610 just as you come off the M1 and before Nuthall r'bout, but they always look full.
I'm sure you could find a side-road in Kimberley if they didn't work. From either it'd be an easy run down the A6002 and Woollaton Vale towards Beeston.
