I assume the person it's designed for has the legs of someone 6'8" tall and the torso of someone 5'2".

More validation of the aphorism “just because you can doesn’t mean you should”

Were there just some spare bridge steels kicking around they thought they could use?

Hats off to them.

After all, in one swoop they've made every Ellsworth, ever made, look beautiful.

Makes me think of these

I'm sure like most nasty bugs they actually get them in Australia but i could only find CG ones.

Good lord. That's really quite something. Minging, and obviously a really terrible design.

I'm still not sure that it's actually *uglier* than the paperclip bike, though. Tough call.

It looks to me like it's just a version of a McPherson strut. Ugly as sin. I guess it would allow more control of the front suspension geometry than a telescopic fork, so you could slacken the head angle as the suspension compresses, but can't see how it would be worth the complexity, let alone the ugliness and standover height.

I think their idea was that the suspension action wouldn't effect the steering.

All that travel 8"? with a QR front wheel eh?

90degree head angle at that point too. Seems to completely ignore the fact the there's weight over the bars on a bike too

Presumably there wouldn't be weight there for long.

We had this beauty in the workshop this week.

It's not particularly long, or low, but it's got the slack bit dialled with a c60° head angle. Unfortunately the seat angle was similar.

On the compliance front.. the wheels flexed horribly and the forks so much you could see down the seals.

🙄
