Used my Spesh bg sport shoes for over 4yrs. Replaced them with the same recently (slightly adjusted design) and I can not get on with them at all- the outside edge of my feet hurt. Could this simply mean change the spd position themselves? Ive always gone for centre/neutral by default and left it there.

they possibly stretched so were slightly larger - are you getting fatter ;+), also always buy shoes in evening as blood settles at bottom of body (*assumes you spend most of day upright).
thinner socks,
or shoehorn
or tennis ball
or make a strecher out of something and go gentle

Old shoes were baggy as (sagging over the outside edge)

I have to use same insoles as I was getting heel lift on left foot (causing a blister on heel). Maybe try a different (proper) insole this time (not the same 4yr old one)?
