Anyone local able to tell us if bikes can ben on some bus routes in Galloway? I am particularly looking at a 'shuttle' along A75 from Isle of Whithorn area to Castle Douglas Area.
Open to options to create a tour without having to do big circles...
I see that a decade or more ago there was a few, but not seeing anything currently.

How many folk/bikes?, if its only one or two bikes I could probably fit them in my Tiguan if you take the wheels off and fit them in the boot, if you can't find anything then drop me a pm
It will be four of us....
At worst I have a plan to head down one way with car & rack and dump at Western end of the route, then get bus to start (maybe your neck of the woods) where I meet mrs_oab and our two pals who travel independently there with my bike as well....
Ah ok, if you get stuck for a lift/bus back n' forward then I'm sitting on my arse all day so give me shout.

Currently looking at June and it may be we can sort something ourselves.
A shame the old Dumfries - Stranraer rail line no longer exists or that buses don't have racks.. 🙁
Last year I did a tour in Galloway starting in Castle Douglas and ending in Newton Stewart after a loop of The Machars. I had no problems with putting the bike on the bus back to Castle Douglas on the A75 Stranraer to Dumfries route (Stagecoach)
