Mate has a Kona something-or-other - I think it is a Stinky - maybe medium size...2006 era I think. Anyway, he put a new rear mech on after totalling the last one and it was a XT Shadow. Fitted in the shop and the shifting was fine...when out riding the thing ghost shifts with the slightest pressure on the pedals...constantly.
Tried new inners but I'm thinking it might be down to the cable routing and the cable length...can anyone help me out and tell me the ideal length of outer for the rear gear cable please? Also best routing of the cable.
We have tried everything else (apart from swapping the mech) and it seems to be a constant glitch - I'm sure the cable length is having some sort of affect on it.

maybe try full length outer? sorted the ghost shifting on my NRS but that was caused by frame flex.
