Looking at getting the girl a music/video player for christmas. Apart from the ipod touch what's good for under a ton?
Needs to be useable on an imac but can't stretch to a touch. Looking at Archos/phillips/creative

iPod, not the best but the only option for a teenage girl.

new nanos are 115 - but have a built in video camera and fm radio

older nanos can be picked up for about 85 quid I think - but can still play video if not record it

I wouldn't risk buying anything else unless they have specifically asked for it

You've seen the Touch for under £100, bite their arm off.

I've seen very positive reviews of both Archos and Creative units, although both people I've known with Creative Zen's have had them break within a couple of years, neither were particularly impressed.

For a teenage girl, even a broken iPod is better than anything else. Don't dare even be in the same room if it's not an iPod on Christmas day...

You'll be accused of child neglect if its not an Ipod. 🙁

ipod or nothing. maybe you could try and get a voucher to use on amazon or dixons or somewhere like that, you can normally find something floating around on the internet that will save you a tenner.

I can get one from Tesco with 10% staff discount plus on Tesco Direct they are giving £15 off vouchers towards next purchase. If You're planning to get something from there again it would work out at around £120 for a 8gb Touch (basically £134 and a £15 voucher). Tried some vouchers codes off some websites but couldn't find one that would work.

You can look on eBay for new ones. If You're lucky You might get one for around £120 as well if the auction ends at some late/early hour. Still over Your £80 budget.

I landed an 8gig touch, spanking new for £40. 😀

I think it was wise not to ask any questions. 🙄

Brilliant. I expect you'll be telling us that you ride a stolen bike that you got down the pub next?
