hi all, thought i'd post this up. you can now look at the OS 1:25k maps for free (and buy if you want to) on Multimap, very handy for route planning. Check out this link:

FYI the maps are slightly tilted which is a pain for splicing them together

Bugger it. still better than not at all.

I thought you only got the tilt if you screen grab. you can buy the map properly I think.

On the subject of splicing... if you look at the maps in IE all the tiles are saved in the IE cache. There are cache reading utilities that you can use to extract all the jpg map tiles. Easier than grabbing screen shots.

not exactly, as the maps are broken up into 256 pixel square chunks. BTW with Firefox you can access each image within a page without looking in cache with Tools/Page Info
