5, Segment vs Heckler, Bantam

Similar prices as far as I can see.

What are the pros and cons, which would you choose and why?

my old heckler is very very similar to my mates old 5.
His 5 gets the nod for slightly better bearing fitting, mine gets the nod for not being made of old filing cabinets.
Dunno about the modern stuff.

I've owned several Orange SP bikes (Patriots, Fives and 223/4's) plus a couple of SC (Heckler from '98 and '04; Bullit from about '01).

My personal favourite was the Five (2010 model) mainly as it had the best geometry for the riding I did.

IIRC the geo on the newer Orange bikes are slacker and longer than the equivalent SC.

Having said this, the SC bikes look a bit more polished and ride very well. Ed Oxley (Great Rock) has a heckler and was very complimentary of its descending abilities.

I like Ed and everything but I don't think I'd have him down as an impartial reviewer. I would still go for an SC however. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The green Bantam frame looks particularly lovely.

Orange geometry and sizing a lot better IMO.
