One up tap lend for beer money, Halifax?

Toying with getting the one up steerer tool on the PSA but can’t bring myself to buy a tap for one use. Cycle Gear don’t have one and the local repairer also drew a blank. So, I thought a punt out to the generous people of STW for a lend would be worth a shout.

Anyone have one I could possibly rent/loan?

Cheers

I think the bike mill at Queensbury has one. Formally known as Firth cycles. Opens Tuesday

How about Dave Kaye at Cycle Fast (now has a shop in Sowerby Bridge)?

He's a top bloke.

If i can find a jiffy bag you can borrow mine for postage. Usually about £6-7 all in first class signed for.

I'm up near Newcastle

Have you considered the pump instead? I move mine between bikes and no steerer tapping needed 🙂

Don’t they do ones that don’t need tapping now.

Indeed they do but you can only get the very small storage capsule on the bottom of it instead of the large one that fits on the bottom of the threaded version.

Have several versions of both and the threaded is much better with the larger storage.

I did consider the pump but I don’t think it works with a fiddly lock bottle.

And I only have the one bike.

I've also got the pump mounted under a Fidlock bottle on another bike and it works fine.
Happy to tap your steerer for you if you're up riding in the Tweed Valley.

Still handy to have a pump on that one bike 🙂

I got fed up of strapping things to my frame and didn’t trust CO2 as my only means of inflating. Once you’re looking at the thread less carrier it’s not much more for the pump.

(it is all quite expensive)

Get the pump and you can use a Bentley Components top cap
