Does any one know which Front Derailleur i need for a one-on 456, out of these two?

iirc you want the one with the clamp below the derailleur, the 770

you can go either way. both can take the cable from the top tube or the down tube. the one on the right (771) is supposed to work better in muddy condititions.

Just checked mine, it's a 770 . No problems in 2 years.

Both 770 and 771 (high clamp) will work on the 456.

I used to run the 770 until I switched to a carbon 456 which needs the high clamp due to the shape of the frame close to the BB.

The high clamp 771 is known as a 'conventional' type which are supposed to be a bit more robust. But I think the 770 type look neater and can be better if you have seat tube bottle mounts in a position that the high clamp type will interfere with.
