Flippin amazing video of a log cabin being constructed. Not a single power tool in sight!

Now if I can just figure out how to turn this into a gif...

PS - the whole thing's in Finnish ๐Ÿ™‚

Starting to understand why they carried axes in to battle. That's some skill.

Very nice indeed. I've spent some time in Finland, and stayed in some wooden houses and a log cabin. I would feel complete being able to build my own house out of wood...and have an mtb leaning against the wall.

Brilliant. Does anyone know why they finish the outside of the cabin with the axe?

Thanks for sharing fascinating for me, the build technique is very similar to the house I built that was imported from Finland ( the logs were already cut) I used the same stacking technique its quite complicated to ensuring that the stakes are alternate, or the movement in the wood would cause problems, digging them out if a one was put in the wrong place was a pain. I liked the way they checked the squareness by measuring the diagonals. I met quite a few Finnish Builders, they are tough guys.
