Assuming it's for some sort of chain device, is there anything out there I can mount on a 2x9 (22T, 36T) setup to stop the chain dropping off on the inside, or even better, inside and outside?

Its for a direct mount front deraillear with a fixing which no-one supports.
Edit - why would you want some sort of chain retention device if you've got a front mech? Where's the chain going to hop off?
