My mate has just bought a Vitus 650 Full suss and it came with Conti X-kings,which are of as much use as a chocolate fire guard where we ride,He had about half a dozen spills today,all tyre related,he had 29er Chunky munkys and Smorgasbord on his last bike,Any one know if they have plans for these tyres in 650 size??

No chunky Monkey yet. But that's me being a bit cautious with mold costs.

We did a bit of work on the Smorgy too. 1mm thinner tread, with a slightly taller corner block for a less rounded profile.
I'll try and grow a pair and get the monkey made up too.

Dual compounds samples: Samples are passed test. They are making formal samples to you, estimate the completion date is 19th May.
So we get 'em then. Then ride 'em around, approve (or not) and crack on.
It'll be a while yet though.
Out of interest, why knock 1mm off the tread depth?
Pleased about the bigger side knobs - plenty of grip there already, but it doesn't always feel like it.
Any update on the 650b chunky monkey?
will the 26 inch versions get the revised tread profile too or is it exclusive to the 27.5?
