Hi I'm new to the forum -

I've been pondering on a new bike for a while and I'm thinking of getting an On-One Ti 29er. I'm thinking rigid fork, 2x9 gearing, and Jones H bars. Can anyone tell me what size tyre you can fit on the rear? How are people finding them, ride etc?

Cheers

I'm running mine with carbon forks, H-bars and ss. Loving it. With this setup its surprisingly comfy(although I'm looking at sus for longer summer rides - see my thread). Its soooo light. Tyres wise I've got Bonty 2.2 acx; plenty of room. Stoner might be along in a bit for info as he's used more tyres than me.

btw I hope you've alreday got some h-bars, or a deep pocket - with the exchange rate and price rises they are not cheap!

Thanks for the reply Clink - What chainset you got there?

Yep - I got the H bars a while ago on eBay for 80quid - turned out to be a real bargain 🙂 I'm wondering if you'll get a 2.4 Racing Ralph in there? I guess a 2.55 Weirwolf is out of the question! Funny enough- I have a 26" full squish bike - so the new bike is intended to be totally different.

Current xt chainset with surly 32t chainring. I've got a set of Middleburns (just to try something different) but have not got round to swapping them over yet.

I have the kenda nevegal 2.2s. They seem v wide for a 2.2 and would not fit anything any bigger in there.

The ride is a blast. I have the on one 29er fork and it seems fine. The steering is wonderful, (using 80mm stem and easton low risers) I was having no problems keeping up with guys on suspension this morning. I feel a bit beaten up now though, wrists are fine but my biceps feel like they have been repeately punched.

I sold a pair of H-bars on here a while back for £70, since the credit crunch I wish I'd sold my house and kept the bars to sell now 😉 FWIW I really rate the Mary bars and I've kept them, wish I'd bought them first. D'oh!

THe Ti29er does look really lovely, wish I could afford one 🙁

I couldn't afford one but bought one anyway - haven't regretted it! I'd promised myself a special bike for a special birthday in a few years - then figured if I bought it now I could be riding it for longer, hence better value for money 😀
