Bootzipper AKA resurrected Inbred 29er. Last I heard was possibly August. Brant might well come along and tell us in a mo. Think it's still a little while away...

No idea on a release date. Perhaps they will take pre orders? I've money burning a hole in my pocket. They originally planned on an August date but I think brant wanted some amendments before production which delayed things.

I want the new aluminium scandal in xl and raw. I'm not quite sure what random name they will come up with for this.

I don't think it's a boot zipper or a big dog.

I hope there's a modern 29er, steel with sliding dropouts, I need a winter hardtail in my life, Sept will probably be good timing 😛

Big Dog (slack 29 steel 130 fork boost) really dragging on with factory.
Getting there though.
Bootzippers in same schedule.

End August.

Is it going to be 456 hardcore hardtail style or inbred trial bike/xc style?

so the question is: Do I buy the bootzipper, run rigid for the winter riding (I sometimes ride where it gets really cold, running the biggest 650b + that will fit instead of full fatties), and put on a shortish sus fork for summer (against Brants wishes) or do I buy the Big Dog and run a slightly too short 485-490mm rigid fork in bike designed for 120-130mm?

It will ride like dogsh it with a suspension fork on it.

I run a slightly too short on my Inbred - one of the 420mm ones that came with the £400 geared bikes a decade and a half ago. Makes it nice and nippy?

Seen the 2020 Kona Unit/Unit X..? Modern geo rigid steel with sliding dropouts and takes a 29x2.6 tyre... Looks like it'll take a short suspension fork too.

Is that a geometry thing or stiffness or something else entirely?

Seems like you aren't too averse to the idea of a slightly too short rigid on the big dog then?

@brant will the Bootzipper be available as a full build on launch? The Bootzipper is the only thing stopping me pull the trigger on a Genesis Longitude. Hope it’s worth it!
