Have an inbred that i use to commute on, ride it at the mo with 420mm on one steel rigid forks. Was wondering what the on one inbred rode like on the carbon forks? is it worth buying some to try? cheers

Pretty much exactly the same unless you really want to convince yourself otherwise...

you couldn't be more wrong.

Carbon forks definitely better than steel - they remove road buzz (whatever the **** that is) and completely transform the ride to something LOADS better.
You know, in the same way that 853 steel is a better ride than normal steel (as if a mere mortal can feel the difference).

Mr. Rocket is bang on. I have carbon On One forks on my Soul and 420mm steel's on my Inbred. Both are excellent but totally different. If I had to choose, it would be the carbons.

My Project2s will shake your fillings out. RC31s are butter smooth by comparison. Can't vouch for the OnOne forks but the Pace jobs have plenty of give.

Used both steel & carbon On-One forks. Carbon definitely better feel. Steel ok though.

Used several carbon, alu, steel and even Ti rigid forks. Sure there are differences but none are remotely like suspension.

Run my Inbred with 700c wheels and Pace RC31 carbon fork, currently on my summer 28mm tyres but have run 35mm ones in the past for winter.

You could go even bigger than that as there's still about 5mm clearance at the top of the seatstay bridge.

How does it compare?
well, the wheels look bigger.

Also some people will think you are cleverer and more niche
