Am on the verge of talking myself into getting a Pompetamine frame and just wondering about sizing. The size guide on the site says a medium frame will be fine for me (5'8") but I did read on another forum someone complaining that the sizing guide was off?

I do have a Scandal which was the right sizing (16") so guess it should be fine but I think the 'roadie' type frame sizing is clouding my judgement!

Dropped bar or flat/riser? What are you going to use it for?

I'm 6'1" and I ride an 18" Inbred which is spot on for me and the riding I do on it, but my large Pompino is a tad small for me using a flat bar and 100mm stem - it would be fine with the extra reach of a roadie handlebar, but then I couldn't do tricks 😉

I'd say if you're doing a roadie build then get a medium, but for a flat bar build consider a large. But it'll always depend on what you're going to do with it...

They're common enough, ask on here if there's anyone near where you live who'd let you have a play with theirs.

Cheers Simon. I'm intending on building it up as a flat bar commuter. Currently have a medium sized Specialized Sirrus flat bar bike with a long stem & think that feels a bit too small so what you say sounds familiar!

I probably wouldn't get a large at your size. I'm 5'10" and borderline med/large. I went large and 4 years down the line I'd go the other way now. That said I'm on drop bars, but have the seat well forwards and a shortish stem (for a road bike) flipped upwards.

I am 5'9" and use a 16" Inbred & Medium Pomp. with drops.

The Pomp. is an amazing bike you won't be disappointed.

Managed to find the geometry specs for the Pomp and my Sirrus - the medium Pomp is 4mm shorter in the top tube so I'm thinking the Large Pomp might be better with a 10mm longer TT if I run with a shorter stem (think I've got a 115mm upsidedown stem currently).

Cheers for the advice folks! 🙂

My old one was a large and it was fine for me with drops, the new one on order is also large. Hopefully they will get their finger out and ship them, gone back to 07/07/10 now 🙁

How are you building yours up Mark - Singlespeed? Alfine?

Mine's going to be a 'long term' project - fixie 'styling' with a (hopefully 11 spd) Alfine hub. Going to be as and when I can afford parts tho!
