I have two of those lights powered by (supposedly) 4*AA. So it's 8 of them together. Can I replace them with something different, like a 6V battery for example? If not, what batteries last longer than 15 minutes when cold?

Which lights do you have? Do you mean the everlight SSCP7 thingy? I have been using one of these lights through winter, riding in snow & frost cold enough to freeze my camel back hose. I easily get 3 hours out of the battery?
