Looking at building my first 29er. May be single speed to start with due to costs, but want the option of running gears if I don't get on with ss. Are On-One inbred 29er a good starting point? The frames seem good value but wondered if they're a little heavy? Looks like I could get it fitted with a carbon fork all in for £275.
they are a similar weight to other steel frames of the same type.
I had a steel 26 inbred and changed to a 29er scandal. geometery is ace on them.
I would say they are an ideal place to start a 29er career - especially with the on one forks.
I have just sold mine mainly because I have another 29er and want a 26er bike also. Nice comfy frame though. I have had the 26 Inbred too. Nothing in it with other steel frames. There never going to be as light as an alloy or TI frame but the ride is great so the little bit of extra weight is not noticeable at all. I tend to find the bottom brackets feel low on 29ers but no doubt that "will be me"
