[#3955752]

I have just ordered a On One Inbred. I am removing all parts from my old MTB to this new frame.

However the only part that will not fit is the front derailleur. I am going to get a Shimano XT or XTR.

Is the front mech I require a conventional or a top swing etc?

I am hopefully going to order the part tonight, so if you could help me out I would be most grateful.

Thanks

Conventional or top swing will fit. Conventional much longer lasting and top swing is lighter action. You need one which is either top pull or dual pull, and a clamp band size 28.6 or a multi fit one which has adaptors for different seat tube diameters.

Many thanks for that. I have a top swing XTR 31.8. You mention that some mechs have adapters to fit different tube diameters.

This means I could then use my current mech and find a adapter to fit.

Do you know any on line stores that might sell adapters on there own. I have had a look but can't seem to find anything.

Thanks

I've got a set of 31.8 - 28.6 shims in the garage that you can have for a quid posted (taken off my inbred when I put the mech on a Blue Pig). e-mail d4vew4lsh at gmail dot com.

Davewalsh if adventurer doesn't take you up on the offer of the shims I would love them, I have also just bought an inbred and need to convert my 31.8 front mech. My email is in my profile.

Cheers Bigsurfer.

Sorry bigsurfer, adventurer has already claimed the shims. FWIW I got them from Ribble Cycles when they realised they had sent me the wrong mech, may be worth a phonecall to see how much they'll do them for.
