I am 5'10" with 31" inside leg, this puts me at the crossover point between 16" and 18" frame. Currently I ride an Orange 5 with 18" frame and it fits me fine, any advice on which size frame for 456?

I'm 5'8" and ride a 16".

They are nice and long in the top tube so i reckon you'll be fine on one of them.

I'm about the same size as you and went for the 16" - fits fine but needed a 400mm seatpost to make it OK for pedally stuff. IIRC there's not much in terms of TT length between the two sizes.

Err on the small side if you're going to be using it for what its intended for (mad steep tech stuff). I'm 5'8"ish on a 16" and its perfect. Certainly wouldn't want anything bigger.

I think it really depends on what you are planning to do on it.

If you are using it as a 'play bike' - i.e. not doing long distances/XC rides - then 16" might be a good idea. If you will be using it for XC/pedalling long distances then 18" might be more sensible (as might a standard 456 'cos they're lighter).

i am about the same height and leg - have a 16 456 summer season and 18 inbred singlespeed. i would go smaller on the 456 - it is meant to be thrown around.

The ETT length is shorter by about 5mm, which (I think) is due to the geometry being quoted for a 120mm fork for the 456 but a 100mm for the Inbred. I think the 'real' TT length is the same though ๐Ÿ˜•

Get a small one and only use it as a play bike on steep stuff. I bought one on here, built it up and sold it after 3 rides - just didn't get it. They are bloody heavy too ๐Ÿ™‚

Aye, the BikeRadar review puts it at 2.67Kg ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Not sure what size though, presumably 18"

I weighed my 18" a few weeks ago before building - 5.7lbs on my cheapo ebay digital scales. Not sure on accuracy of scales though.

18", 6' with a 33" inner leg and wouldn't want to be much shorter in height riding this size. That's with a 70mm stem and minimal layback post. Based on that I'd suggest a 16" for the OP.
