Ok so I've switched to a 29er Gyro and suits me perfectly, so looking to get the other half a hardtail 29er. Being tall ladies bikes don't fit well.
Steel or aluminium? Both are good value from on-one at the minute.
Looking for rideability but comfort so I might not get as much earache when she struggles on the ups....... but smiles on the downs.
Having ridden my 456 in the lakes last weekend she seemed to get on ok and so thinking steel.
Opinions from those who have owned and ridden both would be welcome.
Thanks in anticipation.
Mike
unless she needs a beefy frame and forks then I'd go Scandal - a lighter bike is betterer for most people unless they're really looking for toughness.
[edit and advert]
I'll be selling a Decade Versa in the next few days - lot lighter than a 456 and much more steel 'spring' too. email in profile if interested.
I have a Scandal 29er and did start with the Inbred 29er. i find the Scandal so much better, its lighter and does work better through the twisty bits way better for me. It does'nt seem to feel any harsher a ride as i was led to believe it may be being alu. either.
HTH, Rob.
Ignore my ad - my bike is 26" ๐ณ
Thanks for comments so far.
Any others before she gets her card out?
Thanks
Mike
Scandal. Love mine. Almost steel feel imo.
I've got both. The inbred is a great frame, the scandal is a little bit better in my eyes. Not a harsh ride and a lot lighter than the inbred.
scandal as above lighter, nice ride quality.
Looking like a scandal then!
