looking at a new lightweight breathable jacket ofr mtbing, cimmuting and fell running any commetns from folk who have used iether of these max budget 100 other recomendations as well gratefully recieved
I've got an Essence jacket - about 2ish years old. Packs small, light, breathability ok. Hood rubbish for mountain use (no wire/stiffening) but of on the bike. I got it cheap and its ok. I probably would buy something different next time.
mate has used kamleika for running/mountain marathons and really liked it.
I've got the OMM smock & trousers, they're very good - the only problem I've had is that after a 7 hour Polaris the fabric seemed to become very tacky and odd feeling. Still worked fine and recovered by the next morning of 5 hour cycling in driving rain.
Just got the Marmot Aegis. It got great reviews, especially regarding it's breathabilty (supposedly as good as if not better than event). I wanted someting that was waterproof and very breathable for summer use. So far not been disappointed. It's light,v breathable (and feels cool next to skin) and has pit-zips, so perfect for warm weather rain protection.
