Got my '93 Trek 970 back to service and it is in a real bad way...got most bits sorted but wheels are a complete unknown.

They are Sachs New Success hubs from around '93/'94 and use a Shimano freehub. Bearings are seized solid and axle doesn't turn but I'm needing to know what bearing sizes so I can order new ones and get them rolling again.

Anyone any ideas on where I could find the info? Had a nosey on reprobate but it only mentions the previous version of them which had cup and cone on 1 side of rear...I believe the freehub versions were sealed all round.

Cheers.

Well, you're going to have to take them to bits to replace them so do that anyway and measure the bearings that come out. Outer diameter, inner diameter and width is what you need. Plug that into a website like Simply Bearings and that'll give you the code.

Get the 2RS versions, (2 rubber shields) for a bit more longevity, (they're probably the standard spec anyway).
