Have correct key, won't turn. Minor surface corrosion evidence.

Lock is kryptonite series 2 (the old grey ones)

Trying to unlock it to get it out of the way and reclaim the cable looped in it... No power available so no angle grinders.

At mo I'm treating the lock cylinder with repeated wd40.

Anything else likely to help?

Wait outside your local 'frozen foods' shop and ask the first shell suit wearing youth to show you how its done?

decent hacksaw blade, ten minutes you'll be through it.

Is what it locked to just bolted to the floor/wall? Undo those and take the lock home for further treatment.

+1 for a car jack. Bottle jacks fit most d locks.

Pretend it's not yours? Our office bike racks are where old locks go to die. I've a sneaking suspicion one outside the chemistry department is mine from about 15 years ago.

If it's any good (you can't tell with Kryptonite) you don't want to be attacking it with anything but the right tools- which more or less means angle grinder or hydraulic cutters (or plasma cutter etc, but whatever, serious kit). If it's single engagement at the bar end then a car jack will probably do it but any decent lock should resist that, that's an old trick. Pen trick not likely to work if the key doesn't work.

Tungsten carbide blade needed I'm afraid.
