Need the bb threads chased through on a road bike I'm building up for my wife.

So...which bike shop in or near Aberdeen would you entrust this to?

Italian thread bb too.....

Thanks all.

No, I'm not going to buy the tool for this one-off.....

..speaking of Aberdeen. I'm going to be there for wedding in the summer. Any decent riding round there?

Mackem,

Plenty not too far away.

Head out to Bennachie and Pitfichie as they are close by.

Pete at Banchory Cycles should be able to help you if you are out that way.

In terms of riding around Aberdeen, it's flat and rubbish - all those mountains you see are an illusion.

p.s. check out mtbtrails.info

Alpine bikes can be good depending on who you get to do the work, but to be honest I haven't taken my bike to a shop for years.

Mackem, there is tonnes of biking round Aberdeen.

Check out
Scolty
Bennachie
Pitfichie
Kirkhill
Ballater area
Aboyne area.

Here is a wee website with some routes for you

got more chance of getting it done at holborn or banchory cycles.

Alpine bikes AFAIK (used to work there) dont have italian bb chasing tap - for obvious reasons.

neill ross' shop on king street had em as im sure we ended up with them after he shut up shop.- will check if the shop still has them this afternoon.

how bad is the thread ? could you chase it up with a propper thread file ?

Mackem,

If you are going to be there in the summer it would be a terrible shame not to get right up in the Cairngorms, on the Southernside of the Dee Valley you have historic drove roads which are now an absolute blast on the hills. Look out for the Fungle and the Firmounth roads at Aboyne and the Capel Mounth and Jock's Road South West of Ballater
