i'm at stage 47. of the sram manual
put the rebound and compression damper back into leg. have noticed that oil pisses through somewhere under the floodgate knob when the rebound damper is pushed into the leg.
i haven't yet finished servicing. still have to put lowrrs on and add oil into the lowers.
is this normal?

It sounds like you're going to need some new O rings in there as one is leaking...
There's a seal under the floodgate knob that fails regularly - google for details - you may be able to sort it out with a supplementary o-ring fitted under the small floodgate control knob in the middle - the one that's held on with a tiny allen bolt. Worked for me. Maybe stack two of them. Alternatively, have a word with TF Tuned Shox, who are great for advice and also stock a comprehensive range of RS spares.
