Not good if you have to have a seatpost inserted into the middle of your spine. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

From Facebook:
[quote=AllTheGear ]
They need to really keep the weight down. If it is able to be picked up by hand, NO PILOTS LICENCE IS REQUIRED IN UK

It just gets better. *starts weightlifting so I can pick up really heavy bikes*

It may fly, but I bet you couldn't ride it anywhere!

That's a solution to a problem that only exists in a 14yr old boys mind - where it should have stayed!

Bet you're a riot at parties fella.

Clearly an engineering exercise in "because we can"

Most of stw wont fly due to [s]being fat bastards[/s] difficulties overcoming inertia

I can almost foresee the, "What tyres for my flying bike?" threads.

I know - bar humbug ๐Ÿ™‚ It's probably something to do with the day job (Design teacher) dealing with daft ideas every day. After thinking about this stuff everyday of your working life "because you can" starts to become insufficient.

When I first saw the title I thought of the gossamer .... which was so much cooler!

...and some think wide bars are a problem on narrow forest singletrack.

Is it a bike ? Is it a plane? No. It's neither, buy a bike and if you are really rich, buy a helicopter too.

I'm gonna hold out for hoverboards thanks.

Three companies in the Czech Republic have collaborated on a prototype bicycle that is also capable of flying.

Have they not just made a big quadrocopter, with a bike stuck in the middle?

Eggzactly

Nowt new here from an engineering context - just a useless product.

but why would it need to be a bike - every fat knacker will just fly everywhere, replace the bike with an armchair, job done.

how long does it take to cross the Solent? I think it's longer than 5 minutes isn't it? if you pedalled in the air I'm sure you could rig it up to charge the battery.
would be nice to go for a ride on the Isle of Wight without having to pay for the ferry.
