Yes.. I put a bid on a 223 and won it for £730. I haven't even picked it up yet. AND its a 17" and I want a 15".

Now I am going to have to sell it as I have charmed Mrs Flamejob over the weekend into letting me buy a brand new one (224 that is).

I hate it when that happens, even when I want the thing I was bidding for.

What an idiot.

If it's on ebay you'll need a bloody good reason to not pay.

if its ebay, what the worst they can do. Give you negative feedback... atleast your not £730 lighter.

Offer the pay the difference the seller will incur if they offer it as a second chance offer to the 2nd highest bidder?

Buy it and give to a charity, your missus won't mind. Or will she?

Pay for it and use the cash saved to buy something for the missus (or new forks, wheels etc)

Why did you even bid on a bike that from your thread appears to be too big from you!?

Use this:

Hello,
I just sent the payment for the item. I also included
an estimated cost of shipping to Nigeria for my son
company. Please let me know when you get a
notification from ebay that Slong Girl sent you a
payment. Send me the tracking number via auspost as
soon as you ship the item. I am having difficulties
getting across to my son that manage her father
company over there. I gave his address to paypal for
verification and it has been confirmed so it should be
in the payment notification.
His correct mailing address again is:

Atolagbe Agbede
03 Ijaiye Road
Opp Mobil Filling Station
Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos
Nigeria 23401

Thanks and I hope to read from you as soon as possible
cos I want this to get to him at the shortest period
of time.
Slong,

ROFL @Joxter

I think I convinced myself that I would be okay with a 17" (I am 5'11") but feel more comfy on a 15"

I was guessing it must be a DH bike but that still seems small. I can't imagine riding a 13" DH bike, would just be crazy! each to their own and all that.

I'm 5-10 and ride a 15" and its perfect. I sat on a 17" before buying and it felt HUGE.

As a comparison I ride an 18" Five which also feels spot on.
By the way, the 224 is for sale!

My 224 was 17" and I'm 5'11" - it felt spot on.

I like roomy feeling bikes, and after riding a mate's 15" it felt way too cramped, even on technical stuff.

It's interesting to note that on both Flamejob's and olderthandirt's photos, they have their seats quite far up, which to me seems at odds with the DH bike ethos. Even on the most techy switchbacks, drop off's etc. I never had the seat fully slammed, as I like to use the seat gripped by my inner thighs. But, as Munque chick says each to their own etc.

On the topic of Ebay, tell them you made a mistake, and either the selling fees or difference between you and 2nd highest bidder should help appease.

I was riding the Megavalanche that year and put my seat up for that bit for extra XC jay points 🙂

Damnit.. I'm such a tit. I even chose the colour for the new one.

That seller is laughing all the way to the bank, with your money for your too big bike.

Don't pay, claim you were hacked.

When it says the forks are blackboxed, does that mean they came in a black box?

I'll give you £200 for it. Sorted, you've got some cash back, tell the wife you sold it on and happily buy yourself a 224. Might be a little big for me though, i'm 6ft and ride 15"/16" bikes.

What ever you do let the seller know. I'm waiting for someone to pay me for an item they bought then faffed about over two weeks ago. They paid a good price for it though so I don't just want to relist it.

I just offered the final fees +£20 (my travel money).

Out of interest... what is the NPB penalty?
