Looking to service my front and rear hubs and was considering doing the job myself. the info you get off the net is rather poor so was gonna just try and wing it as surely it cant be too difficult ?

has anyone done this and if so how did you find it ?

does everyone elso do there own bearing replacements or put it in the local bike shops. can anyone recomend a good local bike shop in Edinburgh to do it ?

thanks in advance

Fronts a doddle (I got Hope rear) BETD for bearings(order two sets) as mine are an ODD size....15268 from memory normal bearing guys couldn't source them, CRC took literally months despite owning hotlines the importers

As above I've only serviced a front, was easy. Allen keys, hammer, punch and headset press I used. You could do it without the press I imagine. I don't see why the rear would be any different either.

I used some bearings I got for about 2 quid off ebay on the grounds that if they were crap then I haven't lost much money! The ones in the hub seem to be running fine, the ones I put in the BB didn't last quite so well...
