Lighter frame, less travel, and lower BB. Sounds like a ripper and addresses the couple of things I didn't love about my Solaris Max (dead feeling/heavy, high BB)

Just kidding. It will take a lot to get me to change from my Mk2 Solaris.

That looks to be a decent upgrade from the Solaris Max. I'm quite tempted to get one ordered as it sounds perfect for the riding I do, hopefully it'll be a bit more spritely than the current model which can sometimes feel a little numb.
The only downside for me is the matte finish, I prefer something a bit shiny.
£849 is the biggest downside for me
I am really glad that I picked up a spangly Froggatt green mk3 SolarisMAX earlier this year and can keep my 140mm forks (and 65 deg HA). last ride I had on it (down the Fungle) was sooo much fun, I love it.
I’ve obviously no idea how the Solaris will ride but I for one will lament the passing of the old.
It'll have to wait. Mk1 Solaris is still making me smile :o)
