I'm going, formulating a plan on ride there and back... and the fact that it's right after my 40th birthday well that's some icing
Good God yes!
This looks excellent.
Best break out the dancin' pants.
🙂
Just me and thee Ed?
We'll have to serenade Binners when the pub closes.
Send In The Clowns always goes down well.
I'm entering,they're on FB,it looks like a good event.
I thought tickets weren't on sale yet?
I have official release from the household:) will get tthew to come and see about the whalley rangers. Binners will defo be there. I'm going to the mnpr and IL ask them tomorrow
I have to go carless so I'm looking for a packable tent tonight
Not sure if the tickets are going yet
I'll actually be opening the event, like the queen launching a new cruise liner. I'll be throwing a can of special brew through the window of a pub, while inside Hora will be singing a rousing rendition of Tina Turners Simply the Best. He dresses up as her, and even has the wig
i reckon i'll be there for some of the shenanigans. looks like a fun time!
how cliquey will it be?
how cliquey will it be?
ever been to an mtb event that doesn't have cliques?*
love that the National trust are sponsoring, that must mean that the best off piste trails are now "on-piste"
well I have but I helped organise it with xherbivorex and as it was a commando raid and we knew no-one in the "industry" who would turn up there wasn't any opportunity for cliques. I now ride alone as anyone associated with it avoids me like ebola.
Church View B&B is a good bet for accommodation run by an MTBers wife http://www.churchviewguesthouse.co.uk/
also for a more distant option Marmalades B&B again run by a couple of very nice MTBers http://www.marmaladesbedandbreakfast.co.uk/
I think I'm on Holiday, not 100% sure though, oh yeah, the wife is due a week or two after that so it may be pushing it (pardon the pun)
If it's anything like the same atmosphere as Hit the North or the very few pub rides we've been on, it'll be very friendly, devoid of ego, welcoming and inclusive.
Mrs S loves riding with people from here, because as she delicately put it, 'It's about as far away from a who-can-piss-highest-up-the-wall contest as you can get.'
🙂
how cliquey will it be?
Maybe just not quite cliquey enough for beardy-weirdy fat-bikers Rich 😉
Yeah, I fancy a bit of that, although I suspect we may be planning on an early summer holiday which might clash.
I've not found the mountain bikers round here to be cliquey
I post on here with my real name so Google images should find a picture of me, if you come then say hello and you'd be more than welcome to ride / drink beer with me/us
yes ill be there Saturday and for the ride out on Sunday... which pub is the opening party in binners?
ticket bought 🙂 does the ticket cover the access to the campsite as well? not obvious from the website
I've just bought my ticket, not certain what the score is with the camping.
Maybe we just stay in the pub all night!!! 😀
Me, I'm in, ticket bought!
it'll be very friendly, devoid of ego, welcoming and inclusive.
Yeah, but anyone that's not those things is well out of our gang.
I'm gonna be one of those annoying people who might come but will leave booking until the last minute this endangering the event. Go me.
Is this like a music festival but with less annoying people and more bikes?
I don't know about the less annoying people, but at least we're unlikely to be constantly filming proceedings on our iphones. So thats a plus, I suppose 😀

Working from home?
Buggrit, we're in, lugging the caravan of dreams behind us.
Im in ticket bought, bummer Im not living in Rammy at the mo. Ticket dosent include camping by the sound of things. If they will be showing films, What are the odds they will show the story of british MTBing. It premiers the week before in Hebden Bridge. If anybody in the planning stages of the event pledged £100 to the film then they would have a licence to show it in a public place.
I've got my ticket. Does anybody seem to know where the hell it's being held in Rammy?
In your back garden.
We were going to tell you at some point
Wont get many in then.
