Any good suggestions for a route North York Moors bikepacking with my daughter - maybe ten miles a day ? Possible campsite one night ( near pub if poss ). She's 13 and getting better at riding though struggles on long climbs.

Thanks !

I'd stick around the Danby/Goathland area as there's plenty of classic routes around there. Used to be a decent campsite at Goathland too. Most route books for the NYM will have routes that join up.

For camping then High Paradise farm is a good bet. Remote feel and bike friendly. Your can follow the drovers 'road' from Square Corner above Osmotherly to there or one of the trails from Sutton Bank. Lots of other approaches.
Other decent camp spots are Rosedale (large and slightly corporate campsite but good showers and used to backpackers and bikes). The one just off the Cinder track at Robin Hood's bay is OK but pricey and busy.
Stone Close campsite in Dalby is really nice and so dark as it's in the middle of the forest (possibly the best of the lot). https://stoneclosecampsite.co.uk/location/
Should be able to work out circular routes from those.
For route planning the Moor to Sea cycle routes give some options.

We did our first ever bike packing trip up there two weekends ago - went pub to pub - bit further than 10 miles a day though!

The old Rosedale Railway line is a good track to use - once on the tops it's very flat so you cover ground quickly.

This was our route, you could adapt it to make it shorter...

The other thing we discovered in our first pub, was that we were on the coast to coast walkers path and there is a van which drops off luggage every day between all the pubs / inns along the route - chatting to the driver he said they could shift anything anywhere on the route if we wanted to use their services.

@footflaps loving the photos. The Lion Inn up at Blakey was my local when growing up. Brings back good memories of cycling over those hills and down the "incline", watching my brother wipe out when he was about 10 when his brake blocks finally gave up on that hill..

Cheers - I think I managed nearly 150 / day on that ride!
