What gearing are people riding?
Always ridden gears before but fancy SS it. Given Leith Hill and Box Hill I guess 32/16 or lower?
I built a SS sometime back and rode it about on the N downs. I found that 32 16 was about right on average. 32 18 was easier on the ups but slowed the whole show down a bit. Having said that I found the whole exercise a pain as all of my mates ride geared and unless you have some likeminded savages to ride with it'll be pretty lonely out there.
i ran 32 17 living round there, some of them are a bit sort and sharp for 16 but im sure u would be fine with anything
32/17 or 32/18 in the winter.
Used to be 32/16 but my knees told me off.
Should we organise a North Downs SS extravaganza? Since I tend to be up there on Sundays, how about the next couple? 25th July or 1st August?
